Proudest Moment

By: Jon Warren

I have many proudest moments; I just don’t know which one to talk about. My sports proudest moment, School, or maybe my proudest moments with my friends. I think I will talk about my favorite thing sports. My first homerun sounds good.

I remember it like it was yesterday. We were in our last tournament until next year. I been trying to hit a homerun forever but it just wouldn’t happen. I was 11 years old; everyone hit a homerun except me. But until that tournament. We were in the championship playing the Road Runners. We were doing really good winning 9 to 5. So they brought in a new pitcher in when I came up to bat. Strike 1. Ball 1. Ball 2. Next pitch BOOM. It’s going its going its gone! My first homerun hit the Maryland flag pole. I was so happy and proud I finally hit my first homerun. It was a 3 run homerun. It put us up 12-5. Then 3 batters later, my friend Alec McCoy hit a 3 run homerun to end the game. Final score 15-5. It was the proudest moment.

First game for little league the next year I pitch a No hitter. I had 17 strikeouts and there are only 18 outs in a game. That one out came back at me. I was happy. When have you ever seen the pitcher strike out ever one except 1 person? But I also walk 2 people but they didn’t score. We won that game 16-0. I was proud my parents were too.

Baseball brings a lot of excitement to my family. We have a lot of proud moments. My sister hitting a grand slam, Me making the all-star team at the age of 8, and me hitting 27 homeruns in 1 year from little league/ travel/ and all stars. I simple love baseball! <3

Game Winner

May 18, 2010

In Mariner I had a lot of memories. I lost friends and I gain them. But I had some good memories. Sports memories and educational memories but i like the sports better because they are more exciting and more people notice.

7th grade basketball. My second year on the team the team. We were playing postlewait. Game was very intense and it was coming down to the final seconds. 5 4 3 2! FOUL. Two shots. I’m at the foul line. Were down by 1. First shot. Swish tie game. The postlewait star player came up to me and said don’t miss you little BEEP. Second shot is up and it’s good. We win in the final seconds at the line. First time ever winning a game.

After all my hard work and time i put in i finally won a game. I was off for a couple of games but i came back playing hard against postlewait. We finished on top because of me. One of the best days of my life.

If i could i would do it all over again. But change one thing insead of winning it from the foul line i would of want to win it from the three point line and getting fouled at the same time. Those are the best game winners. My favorite game winner is when Kobe Bryant shot a 3 in Dawayne Wades face as time  expired.

Life short you have to make the best of what life brings you. And i took advantage of it and won the game. Ahh Memories. Im going to miss this school so much but im ready to grow up and head to high school.

I was excited and happy at the same time. It was like the UnbelievableThat was one of my top memories. It was the best feeling ever. It was just amazing but my years in middle school are coming to end. And I’m going to miss everyone.

Little Ol Sixth Grader

Accomplishment Essay

In my middle school experience, I wanted to accomplish something. Anything! I want to accomplish something specific in 6th grade. I want to make every team I tried out for and be a starter.

The summer before 6th grade tryout for soccer begin. I didn’t know any rules or anything. But I went out for the team and made it. I play hard and ended up starting for the team. Mid fielder. Only 2 6th graders started. And I was 1 of them.

Basketball one of my favorite sports. I was ready. But scared at the same time because everyone was bigger than me. I was fine with it as long as I played hard I knew it would be alright. Last day of tryouts 2 sixth graders, a couple more 7th graders and the rest 8th graders. I was nervous but I stuck it out and made the team. I started more than half the games and I was fine with that because I was the only 6th grader on the team.

I glad I got to accomplish what I want to accomplish. But I kept playing even though I was a 6th grader a guppy in a pond. I wasn’t only a guppy I was a star guppy.

Baseball!<3

May 14, 2010

Baseball was my theme for my blog. I ended my mariner sports career in a baseball uniform. We won our game 10-5 v. Smyrna. I went 0-3 with a fielders choose. And i got a save in pitching. We ended our mariner career 8-3. We lost against Milford, Woodbridge, and Millsboro. But beat Smyrna, PCA, Georgetown, Beacon, Selbyville, Seaford, SAS, and Delmar. I only struke out 5 times this year.  I hit a inside the park homerun our second game. Baseball is my favorite sport. Its intense, fun, and lots of excitement. I just love baseball.

The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod 8th Grade Bites

Heather Brewer

The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod is about a boy who’s a vampire but tries to live a regular life in a regular world. But he has to be hidden because his uncle that’s a vampire and searching for him. Secretly his uncle is a substitute teacher for one of his teachers that went missing Mr. Craig.

Vlad lives with his aunt Nelly in a two story house in Barthony. He doesn’t live with his parents because they went missing a couple years ago. Vlad has searched for them but never found them. He tries to keep his vampire life on a low profile, no one knows about him except for Nelly and Henry. As a lot of people know vampires need blood to live and this is where Vlad is lucky. His aunt Nelly works at a hospital and very carefully sneaks blood for Vlad to drink. Nelly has very sneaky methods for Vlad so no one at school knows that he has blood in his food. Nelly will put capsules of blood in his food that crack open when he bites into them.

Vlad goes to Barthony High School with his best friend Henry. He has a crush on a girl named Meredith and he has two bullies Tom and Bill. Tom and Bill always bully him and one day at lunch they knocked him down and his lunch got smashed. As you know Vlad has blood capsules in his food and the blood went everywhere. Luckily everyone thought it was ketchup. Human food makes him fat. He needs blood to live for energy and nutrients.

The overall idea is that Vlad is a vampire who’s trying to keep a secret while his uncle who’s also a vampire is going around killing people. His uncle is trying to find him while also a villain is trying to find him named Diablo.

I liked this book very much. I loved all the excitement and adventure that came with it. It was the perfect combination for a thrill. It’s just so fun to read and has a lot of adventure.

I would recommend The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod because it is a great book with thrill and a little sadness. Also if you enjoy vampire adventures this book is perfect for you

Long hairy tails

With poison at the tip

To hunt or protect from a foe

I don’t strike out a ton.

So let me run!

LIMERICK

There was a young athlete from Nepal

Who dreamed ever night of baseball.

He would step up to bat.

Wearing his tights and a hat.

And hit a home run past the stall.

POEM

In the sky,
What you doing in my eye,
It tastes like sugar,

Women Work

April 15, 2010

I’ve got the children to tend The clothes to mend The floor to mop The food to shop Then the chicken to fry The baby to dry I got company to feed The garden to weed I’ve got shirts to press The tots to dress The can to be cut I gotta clean up this hut Then see about the sick And the cotton to pick. Shine on me, sunshine Rain on me, rain Fall softly, dewdrops And cool my brow again. Storm, blow me from here With your fiercest wind Let me float across the sky ‘Til I can rest again. Fall gently, snowflakes Cover me with white Cold icy kisses and Let me rest tonight. Sun, rain, curving sky Mountain, oceans, leaf and stone Star shine, moon glow You’re all that I can call my own. Maya Angelou

Reflection-My mom had so much to say about about this poem. She could relate to it alot. Bc its alot to be a mother and a good one at that. You got to keep up with house and keeping it clean, cooking, and your childeren sports. So she relate so much with the poem.
